Qualifications For a Jobs

Nearly every job in the world that pays a decent salary requires some sort of qualification. The most basic one, of course, is the high school diploma or GED (General Education Development). Unless you are a teenager and can prove that you are still working towards your diploma, it is an important piece of paper you must have to qualify for nearly every job out there.

Okay, so assuming you already have that piece of paper in your hand, let’s move on to the next step: figuring out what you want to be. Are you a writer or a business owner? Or maybe an architect or a doctor? Perhaps even an artist or a professional athlete? Whatever it is you are striving to become, you must first understand that it is something that you will have to work hard at. To achieve the qualifications necessary for you to excel at what you want to be, you must first understand what it is you need to do in order to get them.

Most jobs these days require a college degree or at least a certification from a trade school or training course. The first thing you must do is decide what your budget is going to be for mastering your trade. Can you afford an Ivy League certification or an average one? How hard do you want to work in order to achieve said certification? Once that’s decided, it’s time to start looking at all your options. There are a plethora of them out there today, more so than ever thanks to the Internet. Many people achieve their degrees and certifications without ever stepping foot in a classroom!

These certifications are a great start to moving you towards your dream job, but remember, the work doesn’t stop there. While working on your certification or shortly after, it is time to start building your actual list of qualifications. Internships, free or paid, are great to start such a thing. A business that understands that you are still wet behind the ears as a professional something or other takes you under their wing and gives you real hands on experience of what you will be doing with your certifications. While you make little or even no money during this learning process, it sets you up for the opportunity of actually putting qualifications and work experiences on your resume.

Now of course, there are some things everyone must grasp that have nothing to do with a degree or certification. One of those things is attitude. There are far more people out than jobs today, and many of them, just like you are starting out with little to no qualifications. What can and will separate you from them is your attitude and views towards the job at hand. Professional courtesy and manners will take you a long way and that is something that is rarely taught when gaining a certification. You have to prove that you are a person worthy of their job, not just a functioning robot that meets the standards of the company.

Typical Interview Questions

Many of us have been on one job interview another, whether it’s the big one that can lead to our dream career, or one of the lesser ones that help us make ends meet. With the economy the way that it is in almost every part of the world, it is better to have any job than no job.  Unless this is your first time at the rodeo and have never even practiced before, we are all pretty used to being asked questions in an interview. After all, how is the company going to know you’re the right person for the job if you don’t give them your information?

There are several questions that are easy and general to answer, such as where you are from and what it is about yourself that would make a good asset to the company. However, there are some questions that it is best to be prepared for so that when the time comes, you actually know what you’re talking about. One question in particular is: what do you know about the company?

Though you did your homework and looked up their website and maybe even some reviews, this is not your chance to just spew off their mission statement. Anyone can do that, and most will. In order to make yourself stand out above the rest, be sure to answer the question personally, as if to say: well I know that your company values are this, which is one thing that drew me to apply because this value is also something personal that I adhere to.

Two other questions that often take potential employees in the wrong direction are: what do you like most about yourself? Least about yourself? This is not an opportunity to discuss how you may forget small details easily or that you’re proud of the hot dog eating contest you won six years ago. Be honest about your shortcomings, but also follow up with an assurance that you are constantly striving to be better.

You may also be asked to give an example of when you handled a stressful situation at work. In this case, make the story short and to the point. The interviewer is not only judging the answers you are providing, but how you deliver it to them as well. Being long winded about a triumph will score no points in this setting, and hardly anywhere else either.

One final question to be wary of is that of the salary. While most people think answering with the term negotiable is safe, it can actually be the most dangerous one. Employers want to know what you think you are worth, and how much you know about the field. If the average salary of someone in the field gets paid thirty five thousand a year and you ask for a much higher or lower rate, it acts as a red flag.  A signal, if you will, that you don’t know much about your field and that you are not ready for a commitment to it.

Most Complicated Jobs in the World

Nearly every adult out there has a job of some sort. It’s not always wanted but it is certainly needed if you want to afford the comforts of a good home, healthy food, and all the nicer things in life. However, there are some people out there who need something more than the thrill of sitting at a desk or washing dishes (just to name a couple) all day. There are those that want complicated, dirty, and high rewarding. To those of you that thirst for that, I salute you, and to help you with your search, here are the some of the most complicated jobs in the world.

The Hit Man:
Yes, you read that right. Hit man. This job is dirty and secretive and absolutely dangerous. As a hit man, you are required to have stealth, intelligence, and most importantly, the ability to take another human’s life. You will forever be on the run, not just from authorities but other hit men that are hired to protect your targets. However, if this is a life you think you would be comfortable with, the pay is extremely high and tax- free.

Soldier:
Much like the hit man, an active duty soldier is in constant danger of being killed by their fellow man. These individuals go through intense conditioning in order to be turned into large killing machines with the sole responsibility of protecting their country. They must be able to take orders and shift directions at the job of the hat, or their life and lives of others are at risk for danger.

President:
If you don’t have a background in politics then this probably takes you out of the running. However, being the President of a country is definitely one of the more difficult jobs in the world. You are making decisions for not just yourself, but for an entire nation. There is always some party that doesn’t agree with your views, and though there is secret service aplenty, you always run the risk of putting you and your family in danger of an assassination.

Logger:
I know it may seem silly to have this on the list of complicated jobs, but have you seen what these brave men and women have to deal with on a daily basis? These people are surrounded by huge, sharp machines that could cut them in half in less than a second if they lost their footing, heavy trees that risk falling the wrong direction, and did I mention the exposure? They must deal with blistering heat and frozen winters in order to make their paycheck. It’s a dirty, complicated job with the constant threat of death.

So, the next time you’re at your job thinking how boring it is or if you should quit, remember that these much more thrilling jobs are out there for the taking! All you have to do is be willing to put your life on the line. The first thing you have to ask yourself is though is: Is it worth it?

Commission-Based Jobs

A lot of us are in search of one big, important thing: a good job. Most jobs that pay well require a certification or degree of some sort, and because of that, it is up to you make sure you can achieve it. However, getting to the end of such an education takes both time and money. Even after obtaining a degree or certification, we must still find a job that pays us for our time. Hourly paid jobs can be found in almost every niche, and if you’re looking for a steady and unwavering paycheck, then it is what will probably work best for you. The same goes with a salary paid job. You may have to long nights, weekends, and even some holidays, but you are still guaranteed your steady paycheck. However, if you want to work a little differently and perhaps more efficiently, then commission based jobs are for you

Pharmaceutical Sales:
Pharmaceutical sales is one of the hardest commission based jobs you can get into. The price for pharmaceutical drugs are always high, but that just means that your commission from said sales are going to be high as well. For this job, for any sales job really, you need to have a tough skin. More often than not people will not want to talk to you. However, those that do will make you a very pretty penny.

Car Sales:
If you want something that can give you high rewards for high sales, then car sales are what is right for you. Many lots will take people who have no experience in the sales field and teach them how to not only sell themselves, but the products they have to offer. Your first couple months working at said car lots will be rocky because not only are you learning how to sell, but you’re also learning about multiple new products that you must know the ins and outs of in order to have a great presentation. Once you reach your potential though, selling cars can be an exciting experience and even easy.

Phone Sales:
A multitude of products can be sold through phone calls, such as a service, a food, or even something as small as office supplies. The percentage you get from these sales is a little smaller because most places will offer a small hourly fee because you will be calling people who have requested information about something that your company has to offer. Not only do you have to explain in further detail what the product is or does, but you also have to sell the urgency that the consumer needs it right then and there, not tomorrow or the next week. These sales take time, but once you know how to talk to someone, it can be a really fun and well paying job.

Now that you have a few examples, get in front of your mirror and start working on your sales pitch! Whether it’s in person or on the phone, the first thing you have to accomplish is selling yourself.

IT Job Scope in Dubai

In the world of freelance, it is not uncommon to acquire clients from all over the world. You as a freelancer have a certain set of skills that are valuable throughout the entire planet, and it is up to you to get connect with them. However, while it is easy to freelance, it is not so easy to score an office job, especially in the IT field, and especially if you are not a citizen of the country. Don’t lose faith though! If you want it, you can make it happen. You just have to know what steps to go through in order to get what you want.

The first and foremost thing you must do is acquire a sponsor that will vouch for you to come into the country. It is nearly impossible to get in without this, seeing as the visa allowances are very strict when it comes to working in the country. You need someone to handle your paperwork on the other side. Also, be aware that although Dubai is taking you in, it will also be taking you out when your contract is completed. If you plan on trying to stay in the country, you must try to find a sponsor who will offer you another contract.

This will increasingly get harder as more and more of Dubai’s youth are graduating from the world’s top Ivy League colleges and are now coming back to their home for employment. Because of this, companies are making room for their own citizens in the work force by flushing out expatriate employees. These young adults are some of the best and brightest that our world has to offer; can you blame companies in Dubai for wanting that kind of work ethic?

Still, if you are persistent in maintaining an IT Job in Dubai while not living there as a citizen, a recruiting agency is a great tool to use to land solid contracts. In every business there are loopholes that people try to go through. In this case, going through a loophole as a visiting citizen can be very dangerous. If you want to make sure that the company you are working for is completely legal and hand the visa responsibilities, the best way to go is through an agency. Plus, they help showcase your talents, and are able to find new jobs for you if you ever decide that one company is not for you.

However, nearly everyone in the country of Dubai is studying IT work. There was a large demand for it several years ago because no one knew much about the field. Now though, everyone is getting degrees or certifications for the subject. This increase in education now makes those easy to get jobs are quickly becoming harder and harder to obtain. The field is becoming extremely competitive and it is up to you to make yourself stand out above the rest. When you do land the job you want, remember that there are many wanting to be where you are so you must excel at your abilities as an IT technician.

Make Money on Google Adsense

Starting a new business is always difficult. In the beginning, it always seems as if there is something new to worry about. Or worse, something you forgot. There are bills to pay, products to make (or order), supplies to buy, and of course, customers to please.  You have to keep track of all of your inventory, employees, and their wages. And then, on top of that you have to remember the basics like picking up your kids from school, eating that plate of food that’s been sitting at your desk for two hours now, and run your dog to the vet to get bad boy fixed. It’s a lot to handle, but you can do it. You’ve come this far, and there’s nothing about you that says quitter, am I right?

Many businesses, especially in the early stages, have difficulty turning a profit. Most are lucky if they can make ends meet and several after that are prepared to actually lose money with their first few years. Thanks to Google though, you can now make some spare money without doing much at all.

This is a time for the Internet. It’s not hard to figure that out, it’s everywhere. Every store or business has a website or at least a mention of it on the worldwide web, and this can be both good and bad. Just like anything else, reviews can make or break a business or a product.

For you, the business owner, having a website for your business can be very good. Other companies much bigger than yours are now looking towards Google Adsense, looking for websites to post their advertisements to. Yes, you’re marketing another product that you may not sell, but it is easy and makes you great money in doing so. The big name brand companies are especially willing to pay a pretty penny for being able to advertise on your page.

Once you decide how much space on your page you are willing to sell to the bigger companies, you simply sign an agreement to let them place banner ads on your website. If you think about it, it’s like getting money just being on the Internet! How much easier can it get? This is a multi-billion dollar business that can not only makes you but many other people out there more money.

Not using that upper right hand corner of your business website? Sell it! Not using that long horizontal space between one portion of inventory and the next? Sell it! Consider it a perk to having the gumption to opening up your own business. All you have to do is make an account, and you’re on your way to making your business more money!

How can you Earn on You Tube?

If you are someone who is active on social media platforms, you have friends and maybe lots of them.  Start earning money online by converting your friends into clients by getting your videos on You Tube and make some money in the process.

First off, establish your own You Tube account. Fill this up with videos that are based on the social media topics that tickles your friends fancy. Maintain a schedule in your upload and do this on a regular basis. Make stunning titles, and create your content with keywords. Remember that “Content is King,” keep it short but meaningful. This will drive individuals to your video from their You Tube hunts.

Be positive with the reactions of your viewers, try to make videos out of their reviews. Reaching out will attract more viewers to your account. This way you will keep them interested and word will spread about the quality materials that you provide.  More site visits will increase your rank.
Once your account gains a sizeable amount of followers, allow You Tube to place ads in your videos.

Setup Google AdSense:
This is where the money goes from every ad click and every view, and withdraw it any time you feel like it. To enrol, be ready with your PayPal or a bank account and a legit mailing address.

Check on your analytics:
This will help you analyze how your account is faring with your audience. If you are not hitting the numbers, change your content, your marketing strategy, and perhaps a deep thought on the type of the videos that you are producing.

Remember that success doesn’t happen overnight, this is a trial and error method. You got to have an insight on what the audience wants. Be patient and keep on improving on your content and videos. Once you have reached your target, success follows.

Jobs That Don’t Need Qualifications

There are many of us out there today that are either working at or planning to work towards our dream careers. It takes a lot hard work, time, and unfortunately, money. Until we get to the point where we can have that qualification, certification, or diploma, we often have to settle for less than perfect jobs in order to make ends meet.

Keep in mind though that there is no shame in that, and working towards something is better than working towards nothing. Having a strong work ethic can take you a long way in many fields as long as you’re willing to put in the training. Today, there are many jobs available that require little to no qualifications in order to be hired as long as you have the equivalent of a GED.

For example, the food industry has become a booming business. Though most waitressing jobs only make a taxed two to three dollars an hour, many people make much more than that in their tips. The same goes for bartenders and baristas who know how to put on a show for the customer in order to make their dining experiences more enjoyable.

Other venues, like cleaning, retail, and some construction work in a slightly different manner. Though training is provided so that you may succeed, there is little to no opportunity for tips and/or bonuses for work. If this is something you are looking for, then perhaps sales are for you. As long as you have a can-do attitude and positive spirit, many places will take a chance on you simply because you must really sell yourself in order to make your paycheck. Commission based jobs are increasing steadily in this market, sending the message that if you want a big paycheck, then you have to earn it.

Call centers are also a great venue to look into if you need a little more security than commission based work. Not only do many pay an hourly wage, but a commission or bonus as an incentive to do great work and show up on time is often given at the end of the pay period. Training is always provided and once you establish loyalty to the company there are future possibilities to move into management.

Of course, if you are really trying to go that extra mile while in college or training, you can try for an internship in your field. Though some do pay a small fee, most only offer a voluntary, no pay position in order for you to be able to gain real life experience for your future career. These are a great way to prove to a future employer that you are not afraid of hard work.

Whatever you decide, remember that any job can be meaningful as long as you are determined to become great at it. Whether it’s a stop in the road kind of job or your idea of a career; make it your own and do your best. Any job is better than no job.

Acing That Interview

Interviews can be pretty terrifying. The interaction between you and the interviewer is what stands between you and paying your bills. If they like you and your answers, they’ll push you forward. However, if you don’t have the right answers or ask the right questions, you’re right back to where you started, worrying about the paycheck that will pay your bills.

There are a few easy tips to follow when you make it past the resume pile and into the interviewing process. For example, dressing the part, having a smile on your face, and having great eye contact. These are great to get you through the door, but once the questions start coming towards you, that’s when you really have to give it your all.

There’s a standard set of interview questions that most companies go through, and the best way to answer them is with a smooth and confident tone, eye contact, and honesty.  This is your moment to shine and prove that you are different from the rest. So don’t try to rush through and answer them as quickly as possible. Take your time, and answer in a way that shows off your abilities. For example, most interviews start out with the question: why don’t you tell me about yourself?

This is not the time or place to discuss the white picket fenced house or dust covered trailer park you grew up in. Answer honestly with where you went to school, if you graduated, and give two to four professional or academic achievements that you are proud of. This is a great way to explain how much of a hard worker you are and how you are able to meet challenges that may come along the way.

Also, when asked what you know about the company, remember to bring the conversation back to you by identifying some of your personal traits with some of their professional ones. If their motto is that they’re a trustworthy company, then an easy way to relate is answering that you are a trustworthy person, and that the values of the company are something you relate to personally. Be sure to do your homework on the company’s background, though.  You wouldn’t want your answer to be ‘yes, that is a personal trait of mine’, if the motto is ‘our dog bones are the best!’

With each question, remember to stay away from general answers. This is about you and what you can do for their company. Focus on all of your positive traits, and none of your negative ones. However, you will be asked about things you do not do well, so in that moment be sure to give them a legitimate answer, but only keep it to one or two aspects. They are looking to see if you are self aware of your inefficiencies. A great response after giving your examples is letting them know that you are not only aware of such faults, but are willing to work hard at improvement. Be honest about your goals and ambitions, as well as your work ethic. This will go a long way in proving you are worthy of the job.
